We deliver all our sites with a Content Management System (CMS).

Why do we use a Content Management System?

  • Future proofing: using a CMS ensures that more pages, content and features can be added in future without having to redo an entire site or having to re-code pages by hand, which is time-consuming and costly.

  • Client control: with a CMS in place the client can add, edit and remove pages should they desire - without having to contact us or use support time, handing control of the site right back to the client. All content updates are done through simple online editing tools. If you have used Microsoft Word or similar, you'll be quite comfortable editing your site.

  • Feature proofing: We always use modular build CMSs, this means that should the site require a blog, a shop, a gallery or any new features in the future, these features can be added easily.

  • Templating and themeing: With a CMS in place, it is very simple to apply a change in design - the content is already there, it is simply a case of adding a new template (or skin if you will) over the top. It also allows specific design aspects (e.g. layout, image sizes, fonts) to remain true to the original design.

  • Ease of transition: With a CMS in place the client is no longer tied to us should they wish to change providers in future. There is no difficult custom code to decipher and re-code.

What Content Management Systems do we use?

  • Drupal: Our first choice in CMSs, allowing the most flexible control over every aspect of the site. Allowing excellent design/template control, infinite user control and with the largest array of feature modules available. Drupal is also our first choice due to the high levels of security it offers.

  • Joomla!: Joomla! is another good all round CMS offering great templating capabilities and with an excellent feature library.

  • OsCommerce: Still the most powerful standalone eCommerce solution on the market, OsCommerce lacks the complete Content Management capabilities of Drupal/Joomla! but is the strongest eCommerce platform on the market.

  • Ubercart: An eCommerce alternative to OsCommerce, a powerful engine that can be seamlessly integrated with Drupal to provide the ultimate eCommerce solution.

  • Wordpress: This is the blogger's CMS of choice. Constantly evolving in capability, it allows a very quick blog deployment when you don't need the power of Drupal.

  • Custom and more: In some instances a project will require a custom content management system which we are happy to provide. We are also familiar with many other Content Management Systems, from Expression Engine to Zen Cart and we are happy to advise and to work on them all.
